END GAME | WHAT TO EXPECT? | Ashes of Creation

Discussing what the end game environment may look like for a full developed server months after its release. Also breaking down some potential threats and goals for players to overcome on a weekly basis!

WHAT WILL AN END GAME SERVER ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?

The maximum number of a node is level 6 which is the metropolis stage that then unlocks a variety of options for the surrounding area such as legendary tier world bosses, the unlocking of dungeons, and gathering nodes within the vicinity. But also those things are supplemented with the node housing.

Three large guilds with the patron system which essentially guarantees that the area around the node will be populated and healthy. Additionally, the different nodes out there will also offer additional benefits to the inhabitants around the area.

These different benefits that the nodes will be what sparks rivalries between nodes causing the player to try to siege each other as a server can only have a limited number of metropolis.

A TYPE OF END GAME: PVP SIEGES

This system ties heavily into the first end game idea. In order to initiate a siege on a node, you’ll need a scroll made from grindable materials. Once the scroll is used, it begins a sign up period for the siege which allows people to opt into attacking or defending for the duration of this time which changes depending on the size of the node. It can be a few days for people to prepare for it. All citizens for the node being sieged are automatically signed as the defenders and the guild who initiated the attack are also auto assigned.

A TYPE OF END GAME: ATRAX’S FORTRESS

When a server reached a certain population of citizens within nodes, the end game can be triggered. The general server can participate in and out in the open world. This is that it is not about people signing up, it instead it is instead about Atrax’s patrols are out in the world as soon as the sign up period is initiated. All of Atrax’s troops become enraged and begin making their way back to the fortress to defend their master.

A TYPE OF END GAME: HARBINGER INVASIONS

Wrath’s Harbinger

This would not be player driven but instead would be a weekly event that happens at a set time every week. 30 minutes before the event starts, an announcement goes out the server and the skies have a darkened red thunderous ambience begins to envelop the clouds. Metropolises, villages, and such are going to be sieges by harbingers falling from the skies. A mechanic similar to what we have been seeing in the game Rift in their rift zones.
